Eligibility
Self-serve Enterprise seat increases are available when all of the following apply:- Your organization has an active Enterprise subscription, including one set not to renew at the end of its current term.
- Self-serve seat increases are enabled for your account.
- CodeRabbit manages the subscription directly. Marketplace-managed subscriptions use their marketplaceâs seat-management process.
- The person confirming the increase is an Admin, Billing Admin, or custom-role user with subscription write permission.
Choose how to add seats
You can add capacity while assigning users or buy seats before anyone needs them. Both paths increase the same purchased seat quantity.- Assign users now
- Buy capacity first
Use this path when one or more people need seats immediately.
1
Open Team Management
Open Team Management, or Workspace Team Management for an Enterprise SSO workspace, and find the users whose seat status is Unassigned.
2
Select users
Select one or more users, then select Assign. If the assignment exceeds your purchased seat quantity, CodeRabbit calculates the resulting paid quantity before making the change.
3
Review the billing details
The Confirm billable seats dialog shows the current quantity, resulting quantity, added billable seats, proration, charge timing, and collection method.
4
Confirm the increase
Select Add billable seats. CodeRabbit increases the purchased quantity and assigns the selected users. The seats are active as soon as the update succeeds.
Billing and commitment
Confirming either workflow records a prorated billable change. CodeRabbit does not collect payment at that moment. The charge appears on the next quarterly true-up invoice and is collected under your existing invoice terms, with applicable taxes. The order summary shows the true-up date and your contracted per-seat rate. Proration covers the time remaining in the current contract term. Added seats remain billable through the end of the current term. The paid seat quantity cannot be reduced in the product during that term.Automatic assignment
Automatic assignment uses available purchased capacity when eligible users open pull requests. It does not buy capacity silently. Increase the purchased seat quantity first to make more seats available for automatic assignment.Unassign a seat
Removing a userâs seat and reducing paid capacity are separate actions. Once an unassignment takes effect, that capacity can be reassigned to another eligible user. The unassignment does not lower the purchased seat quantity, reverse its prorated charge, or end its term commitment. To reduce the paid seat quantity in your agreement, contact your account team.Frequently asked questions

Does removing a user's seat remove the charge?
Does removing a user's seat remove the charge?

What is the difference between assigning a seat and buying capacity first?
What is the difference between assigning a seat and buying capacity first?
Assignment-led true-up increases capacity and assigns selected users in one workflow. Increase seats adds unassigned capacity from Subscription and Billing, which is useful for planned hiring or automatic assignment.
